“Fashion is not just about clothes; it’s about communication, rebellion, and creativity.”
These words define the extraordinary work of Franco Moschino, the legendary designer who redefined fashion as art and storytelling. On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of his passing, Milan welcomes the breathtaking exhibition Franco Moschino Il Genio Visionario, hosted at the My Own Gallery at Superstudio in collaboration with the prestigious Istituto Marangoni.
This immersive event, conceived by the Italian Art Directors Club and curated by Giuseppe Mastromatteo and Pierpaolo Pitacco, is open from November 22 to December 19, 2024. Through stunning photography, installations, and unique collaborations, it provides an intimate look into Moschino’s daring creativity.
A Walk Through the Exhibition
The exhibition immerses visitors in Moschino’s groundbreaking world through:
• Stefano Pandini’s photographs, which capture Moschino’s bold vision.
• Immersive installations, blending surrealism and satire, offering a multisensory experience.
• Interviews with cultural icons of the 1980s and 1990s, bringing his creative context to life.
A particular highlight is the 15 innovative projects by Istituto Marangoni students, showcasing how Moschino’s legacy continues to inspire new generations of talent. These works, developed in collaboration with the exhibition, bridge the gap between Moschino’s boldness and contemporary fashion innovation.
A special Fine Art corner presents limited edition photographs for sale, with proceeds benefiting the Abbiategrasso Hospice through the Moschino Foundation.
Why Moschino Still Matters
Franco Moschino wasn’t just a designer—he was a provocateur, an artist, and a visionary. His ability to blend humor, critique, and opulence transformed fashion into a platform for ideas.
Walking through this exhibition, surrounded by his most iconic creations and the voices of those he inspired, is a profound reminder of Moschino’s genius. His bold messages about culture, beauty, and rebellion remain just as relevant today as they were decades ago.
